Hats off to 'the slowest bloke in the AFL'

'To be able to play 12 years as the slowest bloke in the AFL is pretty good'. A pretty humble statement from the 2014 Brownlow Medalist, who announced his retirement today. It's a comment that sums up my experience working with this legend.

West Coast Eagle Matt Priddis had just won his Brownlow the first time I worked with him and when his allotted 15 minutes with us were up he simply said, 'Have you got everything you need? I've got time if you need to do anything else.' For those who haven't worked with athletes, this is extremely uncommon, but not for Matt. I've been back a few times since then. He always remembers me and is always keen to do whatever I ask of him.

Congratulations on an amazing career Matt, I hope you're still kicking around the club if I'm lucky enough to get back there again.
