The Premier League is back!
10 Aug 2015
This weekend the English Premier League roared back into action, and given the state of play with the Ashes and my football team in the AFL (Port Adelaide), it's timing couldn't have been better.
And, for the first time in EPL history, the opening goal of the season was an own goal, gifting Manchester United a win against Spurs. Incidentally, own goals are now Manchester United's 5th all time goal scorer, with 181 in total. However, my favourite own goal story comes from February 2001 when United beat Everton 1-0 without getting a single shot on target all game. The Reds one courtesy of a Steven Watson own goal.
