Mad Max Visual Effects - Before & After

It's not often I get the opportunity to utilise the talents of those wonderful people in VFX land, but my level of admiration for their work is huge and I love seeing what they can do. For anyone who's seen the recent Mad Max film, looking at the images in this post are an awesome insight into the magic that VFX can bring to a film. Granted, VFX often gets a bad wrap, but like anything in the filmmakers tool kit, it comes down to how well it's used, and if it's used to enhance the storytelling. Sadly too often VFX becomes the star of a film rather than the story and its characters. When this happens, no amount of brilliance can save it. Luckily, George Miller and co are master craftsmen and women.
